MVC Magic Club Activities

Magicians from the Dallas/Fort Worth area perform with club members to build donations to the campus food bank.

Hundreds of children and their families enjoy three evenings of magical entertainment each June featuring area magicians and club members.

Dr. Mike Smith, area magician, entertains MVC Senior Citizens at their annual Christmas Party, sponsored by the Magic Club volunteers.

Charles Cox, MVC machine shop instructor, and English teacher/magician Doc Grimes provide training at the Dallas County Jail.

Family therapist/magician Mike Smith and Dr. Grimes, club sponsor, lecture on perception, using magic and illusions, in MVC Introduction to Psychology classes.

Magic Club members visit magic demonstrator and master magician Ash Adams at Fort Worth's premier magic shop, Magic etc. & Fort Worth Costume.

On "Magic Club Family Day" club members invite their family members to experience meetings and learn a little magic!

During the pandemic, Doc Grimes , the Magic Club sponsor, conducts  club meetings virtually for club members and guests.

Club members have the options of performing at selected area restaurants where they can hone their skills in performance.

For club recruitment, club members and sponsor Dr. Geoff Grimes perform thirty-minute hallway shows on Thursday before club meetings each week.

Full-time professional magician Bruce Chadwick teaches basic sleight-of-hand techniques to club members at the Illusion Warehouse in Fort Worth.
